Beth O’Malley, MSW, LCSW, ACSW is a psychotherapist in Old Greenwich, CT with over 25 years of clinical expertise with adults, adolescents and children.  She has assisted families with life transitions of; relationships, career, academic settings, traumatic life experiences, recovery from alcoholism/addictions, blended families, as well as, life’s everyday stress.  Individual, marriage, and family therapy services are provided with a warm, open approach and professional expertise.  Beth has a strong foundation in 12 step programs like Al-anon and AA which are key components to Beth's approach when indicated.  Ms. O’Malley has advanced training in psychiatric illness including; anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar D/O, personality D/Os, and childhood behavioral issues. 

In addition to counseling adult clients, Beth brings a passion to her child therapy practice with children ages 4 to 18 and young adults, helping them to feel secure and supported as they learn everyday coping skills for success and how to improve communication within the family and school environment.  Beth uses a team approach to coach parents as they address behavioral issues within the home and school settings.  Ms. O'Malley utilizes a collaborative approach to her work with area psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, and attorneys.  Over the years, Beth has professionally collaborated with private, public, boarding and university personal when requested by parents and has attended numerous IEP and 504 planning meetings within the Greenwich Public Schools.  She works as the professional therapist to Positively More at The Junior League of Greenwich.

In addition to consulting at Stamford Hospital, Ms. O'Malley has admitting privileges at St. Raphael's Hospital where she worked on the inpatient child psychiatric unit and at the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) psychiatric units. Beth has worked full time as Director of Training at CHIT CHAT, The Caron Foundation's substance abuse and co-dependency treatment, as well as, per Diem at St. Luke's chemical dependency programs.  In addition, Beth has worked with homeless families in crisis shelters, rape crisis victims in the ER and has conducted research and been published in fetal alcohol syndrome professional journals.

Beth is published in the Journal of Alcohol, Musician's Union Newsletter and in MHN/Healthnet's Behavioral Health Operating Policy Manual.  Her articles include: "12 Step Programs are Hip (and Healthy)"  and "Adult Children of Addiction, Abuse and Abandonment".  Ms. O'Malley has written and published handouts for the Albany County Crime Victim's Hotline and Rape Crisis Center.  She is an experienced speaker in the area of addiction in the workplace having conducted DOT training for numerous employers nationwide.  She has flown to Maine, North Carolina, Florida, and California to conduct employee behavioral health training and week long workshops on codependency and alcoholism.  

Beth's private practice focuses on healing families in crisis.  Her office is located in Old Greenwich, CT, and provides adult counseling, parent consultation, child therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, and psychiatric evaluation.
