Aware Recovery Care has appointed Brian Holzer M.D. as its new Chief Executive Officer and Erin Scraper as its new Chief Operating Officer. Their appointments come as Aware continues to rapidly increase the number of people it serves and expand to additional markets across the U.S.
Dr. Holzer arrives at Aware with over 20 years of diverse experience, including strategy, operations, marketing, and sales in large and small public and private healthcare companies. Most recently, Brian was President of Innovations at Kindred Healthcare in Louisville. In this role, Brian also founded and served as CEO of Lacuna Health which provides patient engagement solutions to physician groups, hospitals, and insurance providers.
Brian graduated from Pennsylvania State University, earned a Medical Degree from the Drexel University College of Medicine, and an MBA, with a major in healthcare management, from the Wharton School of Business.
Before joining Aware, Erin Scraper held various executive leadership positions in operations, quality, and strategy throughout her more than 18 years in the healthcare industry, with the last seven years focused on behavioral healthcare. Her extensive background includes deep knowledge of both the provider and payor sectors.
She has a bachelor’s degree in business with an emphasis in marketing from Emporia State University. Additionally, she is a fellow of the University of Kansas Medical Center CHC Executive Fellowship Program and is a certified Project Management Professional.
