Aware Recovery Care (ARC) provides competent, safe, trauma-informed addiction treatment for those identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community. Our diverse staff allows us to age, gender, location, and story match our care team members to our client’s needs and life story.
Our care teams work within a community integrated model that integrates individual’s providers and collaboratively constructs a course of treatment as unique as the individual we are treating. Our Care Coordinators manage every aspect of a client’s physical and behavioral health needs so our clients can focus on healing and recovery.
Many of the staff that work within this group identify as LGBTQ+ and have experienced the stigma, trauma, discrimination and increased risk for addiction as members of that community. Given that many people within the LGBTQ+ community experience institutional trauma, Aware Recovery Care endeavors to create a truly safe place for our clients to recover, with their own home serving as a treatment center. The Aware Recovery Care clinical team strives to connect clients with Certified recovery Advisors who share lived experiences and can guide clients through the year-long treatment curriculum with skill and empathy.
Our Family Wellness Department will work with family members and loved ones of clients on their own recovery journey. We will educate, coach, guide and assist them on what to expect, the benefits of treatment, the disease of addiction, and how to best support their loved one and themselves while in treatment with Aware Recovery Care. We also realize that the loved ones of LGBTQ+ clients may also need additional support around their own questions, concerns and preconceived notions of the client’s sexual and/or gender identity. Therefore, it is crucial that the family is provided specialized services that are tailored to their individual needs.
